Cadogan Court, the Masonic Care Home in Exeter which is run by the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution held their annual Summer Fete on a beautiful sunny day on 22nd June 2019. The fete was attended by many freemasons along with their families and friends who enjoyed the multitude of stands selling a wide range of cakes, jewellery, fruits, Craft Items and a BBQ and Bar whilst entertained by The Masonic Choir, Majorettes, a Dog Show and a visit from the “Widows Sons” the Masonic motor bikers. And lots more who were all there to raise further funds for the Care Home.
The Fete was officially opened by RWBro. Stephen Pern, RWBro. Ian Kingsbury and RWBro. David Medlock the Provincial Grand Masters of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset who are all Patrons of Cadogan Court, together with Dr. John Ruther Grand Vice President of the RMBI where after the welcoming speech they were presented with a cheque for £15,858 by Trevor Jenkins Chairman of the Devon Mark Masons Charity Association which was donated to pay for a new SafeGuard System being installed in the new dementia Unit. Other cheques presented to Cadogan Court on the day were £100.00 from with Widows Sons and a further presentation of £100 from Mayflower Lodge No. 7241, home of the Widows Sons presented by their latest candidate only Initiated hours before at their June morning meeting.
