On Saturday 8th December the Provincial Grand Lodge of Devonshire held its Annual Christmas Carol Service of Readings and Carols at Exeter Cathedral.
What a wonderful sight and sound with 800 or so Freemasons, families and friends filling Exeter Cathedral in a superb service led by Very Revd Jonathan Greener the Dean.
The voices from Exeter Cathedral led by Matt Cann gave us some superb settings interspersing the beautiful readings - all brilliantly read by our senior Brethren. If that was not enough there was the Cathedral Debut of our Devonshire Masonic Choir - led by W.Bro. Barrington Sowden - looking great and sounding even greater, they gave a Langham rendition of While Shepherds Watch.
For many, the very best moment was when 50 children came up to sing Away in a Manger and receive their gift. This really was the masonic family out in force.

A huge thank you to all who came, those who read, sung and generally made this a truly memorable event; and some great photographs by W.Bro. John Smerdon PAGDC , these can be viewed by clicking on this link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/qHR3aeWCVckogng78
The Province of Devonshire is particularly grateful to the Master and Brethren of Jordan Lodge No. 1402 for a very generous donation towards the cost of the service.
After the Carol Service Brethren, their friends and families were invited to attend a mince pie and wine reception at Gandy Street Masonic Hall by W.Bro. Chris Sidwell again in aid of the 2023 festival.
