Bishop Surtees Lodge was founded in 1973. It not only takes candidates through the three degrees, it also pursues the Founders' main intention, that of being a study lodge. Members study, research, write and present papers on topics of Masonic interest. This they do at two or three meetings every year, the papers being received with great interest.
