The Lodge of the Seven Hills, No. 6857 was formed in 1949 by the members of the Lodge of St. Mary No. 5148 as a Dining Lodge and was consecrated at St. Marychurch Town Hall at 4.30pm on Thursday the 8th of September 1949 by the R.W.Bro. The Lord Bishop of Crediton, The Provincial Grand Master for Devonshire. The first and founding Master was W.Bro. Dr. Maurece Lees

Meetings are held at the Masonic Temple, St. Margarets Road, St. Marychurch, Torquay on the first Friday of the months of October (Installation), November, December, February, March, April and May. Visitors are always most welcome. Dinner suits and white gloves are worn at all meetings.

The Lodge Tiles at 6pm, with the exception of Installation which is at 5pm and ,following the meetings the Festive Board takes place at one of Torquays prestigious hotels usually from 7.30pm to 10pm.

The Master is elected at the May meeting and any member who has held the office of Warden is eligible, however it is usual that the Acting Senior Warden is elected to the office.

At the Installation meeting the retiring Master is presented with a Past Masters collar & jewel which is believed to have been designed by W.Bro. Dr. Maurece Lees, whilst sitting on his yacht in the middle of Torbay and depicts the Seven Hills of Torquay.
